I surprised my husband for Christmas with a portrait of our kids - he was blown away and is still speechless! You masterfully captured Rachel and Alex's personalities in the painting and you truly make them come to life. Ii's a work of art we will cherish forever - thank you so much, Carol.

My brother, Bob, loved the painting. He couldn't believe how much detail you could get from a dark photo taken in a bar. He only wished he had worn his big belt buckle. Thank you so much for doing it on such short notice.

PAINTINGS & Pricing
I paint in oil on canvas in the traditional manner, building up the surface with translucent and opaque layers. I use the finest permanent oil colors available and finish the painting with a satin finish flexible medium. The painting can be varnished one year after is is completed.

As a rule of thumb, I charge by the largest dimension plus two zeroes. For example, if the finished painting size is 18" x 24", it would cost $2,400. It is the size only that determines price.
Here are some variables that will determine size:
        1. Number of people to be painted in one composition
        2. Head and torso, or full body
        3. Sitting or standing subjects(s)
        4. Large scale (larger than life size)
        5. Small scale or traditional 3/4 scale
        6. Budget
        7. Where the painting is to be hung (wall size)

A portrait is very personal and something to be cherished, therefore, it is my goal to assure you of great quality and a very pleasant experience. If you would like, I'm also happy to include a photographic "progress report" as I work on your painting in my studio.

DRAWINGS
My pencil drawings are graphite on museum quality paper. The paper sizes vary from 16" x 20" up to 24" x 32". The prices start at $350 for one head and torso. The increments are $500 for two heads and torsos, $750 for three heads and torsos. More than three requires a special quote. Full bodies, standing or sitting will cost between $750 and $1100.
